- Saliva in mouth and HCl in gastric juice kill bacteria in food and prevent microbial growth in buccal cavity and stomach.
- The mucus secreted by goblet cells in lining of alimentary canal forms a coating on the epithelial lining of gut and traps microbes entering along with food. Immunity of this type called innate immunity.
