Mukesh lives in a street which is choked with garbage. There are houses with crumbling walls, wobbly doors and without windows. They are over-crowded with families from humans and animals coexisting in a primeval state. Mukesh's house is half-built. A part of this house is thatched with dead grass. A weak young woman is cooking the evening meal for the whole family. Her eyes are filled with smoke. Mukesh and his family live in utterly un-hygienic conditions.
