Answer:
  1. Viruses are non-cellular, ultramicroscopic, infectious particles.
  2. They are inert out side the living host cell. They are perfect obligate parasites (i.e., parasitic at the gene level) and cannot be grown on artificial culture media.
  3. They can be crystallised in the form of crystals.
  4. They are regarded as the connective link between living organisms and non - living objects.
  5. They are highly pathogenic and cause various infectius diseases in plants and animals.
  6. All viruses are nucleoproteins. The nucleic acid is protected by protein coat against attack by nuclease enzymes.
