Gandhiji was a very simple man. He was available even to an illiterate peasant like Rajkumar - Shukla. He did everything systematically. He did not at once plunge into fight. Instead he first understood the problem and worked out a plan
and acted accordingly.
The impetus behind all his actions was the plight of the poor and the downtrodden. And as for his courage, it was par excellence. He was also a good administrator. During his long stay at Champaran, he kept a long distance watch at
his ashram through mail.
