What was the peddler's theory of the world ? How did he himself become a part of it ?
Or
The peddler believed that the whole world is a rattrap. How did he himself get caught in the same ?
Answer:
The peddler thought that the whole world was a rattrap. It had never existed for any other purpose than to set baits for people. As soon as anyone was tempted to touch the bait, it closed in on him, and then everything came to an end. One day the peddler was tempted by the thirty kronor of a crofter. He stole the money. For fear of being caught, he got into a forest. It was a big and confusing forest. He walked and walked but could not reach the end. Thus he himself had become a part of his theory.
